About
Flowers are a recurring theme in my life, from the flowers that my Mother grew and her encouragement in my love of gardening to my work in horticulture, and now through my art. I photograph blooms from my own garden as well as local gardens and parks, and they are predominantly of peony, iris and rose themes.
Always driven to be creative; the refinement of my skills over the years has enabled me to develop a style of my own - capturing moments of time in nature and presenting them with a fresh and dramatic perspective. These works are botanical studies - arrangements that glow from the canvas and demonstrate the pure magic of nature.
I like to paint on large canvases in the medium of oils on stretched canvas. I use tone and colour to create bold light and shadow effects creating drama and beauty while at the same time evoking peace and calm.
I live and work from my home in Central Otago, New Zealand and can be contacted for any inquiries about my work.
